March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States and the second leading cause of death from cancer. Colorectal cancer affects all racial ethnic groups and is most often found in people age 50 and older.

Help spread the word and raise awareness.  Everyone can take these healthy steps to help prevent colorectal cancer.

  • Get screened starting at age 50.
  • Encourage your family members and friends over age 50 to get screened.
  • Quit smoking and stay away from secondhand smoke.
  • Get plenty of physical activity and eat healthy.

FamilyCare Medical Group Achieves Level 3 PCMH

FamilyCare Medical Group (FCMG) has achieved Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). 

“This certification is considered one of the leading standards of measuring a medical practice’s commitment to patient-centered care using evidence-based procedures and best practices.  To be recognized, FCMG went through a very challenging submission process and was evaluated on a set of criteria with an award of Level 3.  Level 3 being the most difficult to obtain and the most prestigious,” said Dr. Mitchell Brodey, President and CEO for FCMG.

HANYS Solutions Practice Advancement Strategies and FamilyCare Medical Group co-presented at NCQA PCMH Congress held November 3-5 in Orlando, Florida, with more than 1,000 attendees from across the country.

CNY Ophthalmology Moves to New Location

The office of CNY Ophthalmology recently moved to their new location at 250 Township Blvd, Suite 20, Camillus, NY 13031.  The new location opened on October 30, 2017.
