Imaging Services
For enhanced care, speedier service, and patient convenience, our practice offers two types of imaging services ― ultrasound and echocardiograms ― at select FCMG locations.
- Fennell Street
- Community Internists
- West Taft Road
- Cortland
- Brighton Medical
- Fairmount
Note: At this time, FCMG is partnering with Senior Health Connect and Imagen to offer our current Medicare population echocardiograms at reduced or no cost to help identify heart failure earlier in an effort to support patient collaboration with their primary care clinician and ideally slow the progression. The typical turnaround time is usually within 48 hours with the possibility of immediate results when clinically appropriate. To learn more or determine if you are eligible, ask your FCMG clinician.
Ultrasound exams (shown above, also called sonography) are an imaging method that utilizes high frequency sound waves (not radiation) to produce precise images of the organs and soft tissues within your body. These images can provide your clinician with valuable information in the diagnosis and treatment a variety of diseases and conditions.
Electrocardiograms (shown below, ECG or EKG) are a quick, painless, and non-invasive tests that record electrical signals of the heart. This system translates these electrical impulses into wavy line tracings on a graph, helping doctors evaluate your heart rate, identify abnormal rhythms (arrhythmias), and diagnose conditions like heart attacks.
