Clinical Laboratory

FCMG Clinical Laboratories is a full service, New York State certified laboratory located in Syracuse, New York. Having an in-house lab assures that your specimens are processed quickly and then your provider receives the results in a very timely manner. Specimens are obtained either in each provider’s office. You’ll find the staff at the Fulton site very capable and friendly making your visit as comfortable as possible.

Diabetic Education

FamilyCare Medical Group offers diabetes testing, education and monitoring to our patients. Our Nurse Practitioners, who are Certified Diabetic Educators, along with your Physician, will provide you with education to better understand the risks and complications of diabetes, as well as the tools needed to manage your diabetic education. 

Bone Density

FamilyCare Medical Group offers bone density testing (dexascan), a test that measures bone density, a factor in osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is an illness that makes people prone to breaking bones. It is common in post-menopausal women and in some other medical conditions. A bone density measurement is similar to an x-ray and takes from 5-20 minutes. It is simple, safe, painless, and non-invasive. This measurement helps your physician to determine if you need to take certain steps to protect your bone health. 

Nerve Conduction Studies

Nerve conduction studies, which assist in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel and other nervous system disorders, are another service offered by FamilyCare Medical Group. These are performed by a board certified electrophysiologist and are offered at several of our locations.

Sleep Lab

Millions of Americans suffer from sleep disorders including insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome. Sleep disorders can affect your job, health and quality of life. If left untreated, some disorders may increase the risk of high blood pressure, heart attack, or stroke. Your physician may recommend an overnight stay in our state-of-the-art sleep lab located in Camillus. Your sleep will be monitored through a diagnostic study called a polysomnograph, which monitors your breathing, body movements and blood oxygen levels. Sleep studies are performed and monitored by a registered polysomnographic technologist and reviewed and intereprted by a board-certified physician.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound, also called sonography, is an imaging method that utilizes high frequency sound waves to produce precise images of the organs and soft tissues within your body, which can provide valuable information in the diagnosis and treatment a variety of diseases and conditions. 

Behavioral Health Services

FamilyCare Medical Group offers co-located behavioral health services in some of its locations.  This is a team-based approach in which medical and mental health providers partner together to facilitate the detection, treatment, and follow-up of mild to moderate psychiatric disorders in the primary care setting. 

Chronic Care Management

Chronic care management encompasses the oversight and education activities by health care professionals to help patients with chronic diseases and health conditions.  Chronic care management helps patients systematically monitor their progress and coordinate with experts to identify and solve any problems that encounter in their treatment.
